JG Summit Holdings, Inc., one of the largest and most diversified conglomerates in the Philippines, recently held its first-ever Digital Enterprise Conference last August 6 and 7 at the Crowne Plaza Galleria.

Companies showcased their latest technology and innovative digital solutions at the event, which was attended by professionals and entrepreneurs from the tech industry.

Throughout the two-day conference, exhibitors presented valuable developments from their respective spheres, from cloud-based security, web services, artificial intelligence, modern data warehouses, and more.

Summit Outdoor Media, a key player in the country’s advertising industry, together with QSTECH, its exclusive partner for LED hardware technology, shared the latest in digital out-of-home (DOOH) trends that will shape the future of the wider global display ads landscape. Representing Summit Outdoor Media was Menard Medina, Digital Solution Sales and Product Development Manager, along with Woods Jin, QSTECH Director for Sales & Marketing.

“In 2000, Summit Billboards was created as the branch of Summit Media, the leading publishing company in the Philippines,” said Medina. “From 2000 to 2014, we have expanded the business to billboard sites, averaging 90-100 different billboard sites, transit ads, and other forms of outdoor advertising. In the year 2015, that’s when we first built our LED site. That was when we started our partnership with QSTECH.”

Summit Outdoor Media currently has LED billboards in high-consumer traffic locations such as Robinsons Forum, EDSA Guadalupe, Galleria Corporate Center, and URC C5-Southbound, among others.

QSTECH has provided LED display solutions for the 2018 World Cup in Russia and has worked with the top media company in Australia. It has also nurtured a strong business relationship with Middle East Broadcast Group, the biggest media company in the Middle East.

“QSTECH has been an LED display provider since 1992,” said Jin. “We now have more than 27 years’ worth of experience in producing LED display designs and in outdoor ads servicing.”

One of the features and benefits of the continuously innovating LED display ad technology are its high resolution and brightness. Compared to traditional static out-of-home advertisements, only LED technology has the sufficient brightness for outdoor use, making the content easily viewable even at midday.

Static billboards, which require the manual production, assembly and installation of the physical content, are labor-consuming, which oftentimes makes it more expensive.

“For the traditional static signage, you have to print new material to replace the existing one,” added Jin. “These are money and labor-consuming things.”
